Sustainable World Program Assistant

China Research Assistant

The W. Alton Jones Foundation seeks a research and program assistant in the Sustainable World Program. Experience in environmental and/or energy issues and excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills are required. Responsibilities include research support for foundation staff conducting programs in China, tracking progress on grants, assistance in preparing and editing recommendations to the board of trustees, organizing meetings, and making travel arrangements. Research Assistant to the Director

The W. Alton Jones Foundation seeks a Research Assistant to the Director. The successful candidate must be a self-starter and have strong analytical skills and a background in biology, developmental biology, or toxicology. Strong communication skills, experience with Web research and Web site maintenance, and willingness to do research across a wide range of issues are a must. The interview process for this position will begin in mid-September.

Spring Internship 2002

The Semester Internship is available for an individual during each academic semester and requires an average commitment of 35 hours per week. Responsibilities include: research on issues central to the Foundation's activities; production, publication, and mailing of two news clipping packets; as well as monthly contributions to the Foundation’s Web site. Additionally, the Semester Intern provides administrative assistance and support to the Foundation’s 24 staff members on day-to-day operations.

The successful applicant will be a current undergraduate or a recent graduate of a four-year college or university. While there is no preferred academic background, the candidate should have a strong interest in the work of the Foundation. Strong computer, research, writing, and interpersonal skills are required. The Intern receives a monthly stipend.
