Dr.
Ji-Qiang Zhang is a program officer for sustainable world program
of the foundation. He
received his Ph.D. at the Institute for Nuclear Sciences of the
State University of Gent in Belgium. Dr. Zhang was trained in
chemistry and data processing applied on air pollution monitoring
and modeling. He worked in the fields of environmental policy
and institutional analysis; decision making analysis, integrated
resource planing for energy, environmental information system
development, water pollution control and basin management in 1980s
when he served as a Executive Vice Chairman of the Academic Committee
of the Chinese Academy for Environmental Sciences. He served as
a senior program advisor at Rockefeller Foundation and as a Director
for Information and Communication at LEAD International before
he came to the W. Alton Jones Foundation in 1996. At spare time,
he loves ethnic culture and outdoor activities.
