W. Alton Jones Foundation
1995 Annual Report
The Foundation's 1995 Annual Report was released in September 1996 and
on this site we have included the report's essays and grant lists.
The cover of the W. Alton Jones Foundation's 1995 annual report is a composition of two images, both taken August 10, 1945: Nagasaki, one day after the atomic bomb was dropped; and a young boy holding a riceball, the only emergency rations available to survivors.

A Secure World . . .
"Seldom if ever has a war ended leaving the victors with such a sense of uncertainty and fear, with such realization that
the future is obscure and that survival is not assured."
Edward R. Murrow

A Sustainable World . . .
"Our ideals, laws and customs should be based on the proposition that each generation in turn becomes the custodian rather than the absolute owner of our resources—and each generation has the obligation to pass this inheritance on to the future."
