Good middle class hotel
We stayed for 6 nights at The Gallivant Times Square hotel, New York. I should admit that the location of the hotel is unbeatable. You walk around the corner and find yourself in the middle of Times Square. You can also reach Central Park, Top of the Rock in a short time on foot.
The staff was mostly nice and helpful. When someone next to us meant to make a party from 4 o'clock in the morning to 8 o'clock and it was too loud, we had without hesitation another room offered! What I felt was very nice.
I really liked the hotel, the beds being big and comfortable. My room, despite its location facing the street, was really quiet.
Our room was too small. As well as the the bathroom - you could not stay there for two. However, that is nothing really new in New York, and for a city trip that is quite enough.
Another thing that bothered us was the cleanliness. Under the bed there was a very thick dust layer. So one should rather not put their bag on the floor, else it would be full with dust.
One more negative point was that two elevators for a hotel of this size are unfortunately a bit tight (waiting time was very long). Moreover, the elevator did not have a safety mechanism, so I once had my foot pinched and hurt a lot.
Great stay for good money. Definitely recommended for a quick getaway all the more so the location pretty much right on Times Square is almost unbeatable.
